   Congratulations!!! You have been selected to read the finest blog that money can not buy!!! I have been cocooned in thought for the first month and 1/2 of the year, but am now ready to resume my particular brand of creative madness...
   What a whirlwind of events to usher in the New year!!! Egypt has dominated the headlines so far, and Dave Letterman has said it best..."Oh, Hosni, Hosni, Hosni...tsk, tsk, tsk..." Well, that's what you get for suppressing your people for 30 years while rifling their treasury to enrich yourself & your family - out on your ass with your hat thrown at,rather than handed to, you!!! What's most interesting is how the protesting fever is now spreading - even the Saudi princes are wringing their hands in nervousness, wondering how far this may go. Go figger - FB & Twitter changing the world, one corrupt regime( or more ) at a time!!! Go Democracy!!! Just wait until these countries build themselves up enough to start having some of OUR problems!!! Al Jazeera seems to be growing in popularity as a result of this as well... guess they're not all terrorists!!!
   As to why I use 3 !!! instead of 1 ! --- 1 is simply not enough; using 3 helps them stand out more and improves the readability and look of text, in my humblified opinion.

A BIT OF POLITICS---(FB-11/2010):   I'm willing to concede that a balance of power COULD & SHOULD lead the parties to cooperate and achieve bipartisan successes that will benefit many or all, but I'm worried that neither side will budge enough to do much more than bicker & stifle each others' attempts in the typical bull-headed & stubborn behaviors that have lead us to this juncture in time....if you ask me, we really need a prayer & some luck!!!

     People are too critical of movies in general - there doesn't have to be a true rendition of a book for its movie to be good. The very nature of cinema gives it a different feel - for example, take "The Shining" w/ Jack Nicholson.It twists main plot elements and leaves out things but is still an awesome Kubrick flick... I read the book afterwards and enjoyed them both ... No reason not to. 

My standards aren't necessarily lower than many others', just different. Thank you for reading my rant, and "Expelliarmus!!!" to all the nay-sayers!!!

     I read about the 40 millionaires [encouraging the rich to pay more in taxes]earlier today, and I still can't believe the Republicans - they want to cut services for the poor and needy( if they haven't come out and said it yet, it's just a matter of time ). Of course, they'd rather make "painful but necessary" cuts than actually ask for a little more of a % from those who can easily afford it, and it's nonsense to think that the wealthy won't be able to hire & build - they're holding onto stashes of cash, because they say that they've been waiting for the economic climate to improve... 

Bush & Cheney are seen as courageous heroes or as war criminals, depending on who you listen to.

   Before I try to finish off the highlights of 2010 Part #3, I thought I'd throw in a few thoughts for 2day's webBlog...
     " I believe that President Obama IS a Foreign-Born, Secretively-Socialist Muslim who has weaseled his way into the highest position of power in the world whilst pursuing a hidden agenda of lustful megalomaniacal greed, hatred, and anarchic thirst for domination, chaos, and worldwide disastrophe!!!!!!" -------NOT !!!!!!! ----------------- ( {:^D }  
      ‎[ Websvenster's dictionary defines Disastrophe as a "disastrous catastrophe" ] -----FOX's deepest belief/wish, no doubt... 
     If FOX news is Fair & Balanced, I'll eat my hat. LOL
    Sarah Palin? Let her prove herself with real solutions and solid, serious ideas with adequate details...I'm not convinced she is capable of this, and if she ever gets serious about running for office, there will have to be a sustained campaign to enlighten the "dumbed-down" populace about her if necessary. Speaking of which,the schism in the media between left and right reminds me of the rift between the donkeys and the elephants in D.C.
     Talk about a circus - or did I mean zoo?

     I don't watch soap operas, unless it's one of my favorites: 

1.) "As the Stomach Turns", 
2.) "The Young and Clueless" and 
3.) "All the Days of Someone Else's Life".

        Personally, I'm more proud of President Obama than just about any other President we've had - he's getting friendlier with business; he's had 85% of his agenda passed by Congress so far (though I heard on TV recently that most prezzes do this in their 1st 2 years); he's very smart& personable, he's cool, calm & collected and a fluent speaker; 

he was voted Most Admired Man in America by the recent Gallup poll for the 3rd year in a row, he has a solid vision for turning America towards Green Sustainability, his wife is active and influential,and he's got a great smile to boot!!!

     A friend of mine posted a very touching story about how he met his wife... I just couldn't resist!!!...

     Now, I am a believing Christian;  sometimes it's a struggle to keep my faith, but I then remind myself of Paul's statement(paraphrasing) - " Neither snow nor sleet nor rain nor tornadoes nor asteroid strikes nor nuclear war nor...   

... will keep me from faith in Christ Jesus". Having said that, I do like to mix religion with comedy, so I hereby present a prayer for the digital age:

There are many in this world that would love to see populations thinned out by design or disasters(natural AND man-made) to make it easier to share resources now &  into the future.    Now that the holidays are in full swing and heading toward the New Year, it's time to look back on 2010 and wonder what's next for 2011.......   There - I looked back and got a headache!!! What a year - chock-full of news, events, and more iconic images for the ages!  I rejoined social society this year, after quite a long time in the shadows, in the background▓▓▓, so to speak...
   I joined Facebook over a year ago ( I think...), but didn't use it much because we only had one computer and the kids were constantly hogging it. So when we got a 2nd PC and located it in the parental bedroom, it took awhile for me to realize that I could ACTUALLY GO ONLINE  and USE THE INTERNET ON A REGULAR BASIS...
   After a few months of surfing around for info & whatnot, I decided it was time to rejoin society and start talking to old friends on the Net, so in June I started to post somewhat regularly on Facebook. By mid-summer, I was in full swing, and since then, I rarely miss a day on the "Social Network"!!! So here are some highlights of my best postings, which include serious commentary, humorous thoughts, sayings & poems, and the occasional inspirational writing creations.......
    But first, the afore-promised handy-dandy guide to pronouncing my name: Sven = (Ssss-venn) Christian = standard pronunciation(Kriss-chunn) and finally the odd Danish last name - Hasselriis ( Hah-sull-reese). There- what could be simpler!!!!???(NOT!!!)
